Have you been suffering from the “Esau syndrome?” Have you been enjoying the
instant gratification that sin affords you rather than pursuing the God-given blessing
that awaits your destiny? Have you been choosing superficial things over the
blessing that God has for you…. all because you were just growing impatient?
Esau sold his birthright in exchange for some stew. He put his temporary physical
needs over his God-given blessing and sold his birthright to Jacob. He missed the
greatest blessing he could’ve inherited for some little stew just ’cause he “couldn’t
see past lunch.”
The “stew” in the case of Esau represents the superficial things the world offers for
our fleshly desires. Unfortunately, the world today has grown more and more
attracted to what is instant….most of us settle for instant casual flings that hinder
you from preserving yourself for that one person that God has set apart for you in
the future, for instant ecstasy you get from alcohol and drugs that hinder you from
drawing genuine happiness from a relationship with God, instantly purchasing
uneccessary material things that hinder you from saving up for a what could’ve been
your life’s best investment like a house, a car or your future children’s education
fees. Come on. We just HAVE TO SEE PAST LUNCH and see the bigger picture!
GREAT THINGS TAKE TIME. So we are called to wait upon the Lord as we are
commanded to “run and not be weary; walk and not be faint.” Remember that the
wise will fight for their inheritance–and that is, the “Jacob principle.” Genesis 3:2
demonstrates how far we should go to claim that inheritance, “Man wrestled with
him after daybreak, I am not going away until you bless me.” CHRIST is the source of
every blessings and of all spiritual riches; those in Him have access to all that He has.
Ephesians 5:17 warns us to watch our step, use our heads, make the most out of
every chance we get because these are desperate times! Don’t live carelessly,
unthinkingly; making sure we understand what the Master wants for us.
Be patient for God has an appointed time for our miracles. He has a set time for our
breakthroughs. He can use something or someone to reverse all the struggles in
your life. And yes, No matter how far you’ve gone with devouring your “stew” over
God’s blessing for you..it’s never too late. You make a choice and just let God make
the change.
I tell you…it will be worth it.
